The Museum in Jeoldusan Martyrs' Shrine of the Archdiocese of Seoul reopened on September 5, 2009 after two years of remodeling of its exhibition hall on the cutting edge of technology.

In his homily of the commemorative Mass, His Eminence Nicholas Cardinal Cheong Jinsuk, Archbishop of Seoul, congratulated the reopening of the Museum and hoped that it would play an important role to let the people know about the history of the Church in Korea and the faith of our ancestors.

The Museum of Jeoldusan Martyrs' Shrine was first opened in 1967 on the site of martyrdom from 1866 to 1873, when some 10,000 Catholics were killed under the persecution.

To commemorate its reopening, the Museum holds an exhibition of some undisclosed remains including the Bulla of the establishment of the Vicariate Apostolic of Korea, the map of Korea including Dokkdo island drawn by St. Andrew Kim Tae-gon, first Korean priest, Sahakjingeui which records the Persecution of Sinyu in 1801 and the Pastoral Letter of 1844 written by Bishop Blanc, the 7th Vicar Apostolic of Korea, etc.
