◎ Benedictine Sr. Caritas, Mother of the Deaf-Dumb, Celebrates Her 88th Birthday

His Eminence Stephen Cardinal Kim Sou-hwan celebrated a Mass for Sr. Caritas (German nationality) who is called Mother of the Deaf-dumb people in Korea on Oct. 22 at the Aehwa school in Seoul with over 500 participants of the deaf-dumb and handicapped people including many significant figures from all walk of society.

In his homily, Cardinal Kim thanked her love for littles one and said, "the deaf-mute school of Korea was initiated by Sr. Caritas. Let me express you my heartfelt thanks for your dedication of 64 years of your life for the Korean deaf and mute people."

Her critical biography was offered to her in the celebration.
