New Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Suwon The Holy Father appointed Fr. Linus Lee Seong-hyo as the Auxiliary Bishop of Suwon (area 5,371km2, population 7,146,120, Catholics 718,638, priests 417, religious 1,604), Korea. The bishop-elect was born in Gi-dong Paldal-gu, Suwon, Korea in 1957 and ordained a priest in 1992. After obtaining his doctoral degree in the patristics from the Catholic University of Paris in 2000, he has served the church as a pastor at Osan parish from 2001 to 2003, a professor, director of pastoral cares, director of the spritual centre, director of the academic research centre and Dean of the Suwon Catholic University since 2003. He said that he would do his best to help the development of diocese in attaining diocesan pastoral goal, 'Land of Hope, in the Gospel'.
