Twenty representatives from the China Committee on Religion and Peace (CCRP), which is composed of religious persons from Catholicism, Protestantism, Buddhism, Taoism and Islam, made a visit to Jeoldusan Martyrs' Shrine in Seoul on November 26, 2009, having thus an occasion to deepen their understanding of the Catholic Church in Korea.

The Most Rev. Hyginus Kim Hee-joong, President of the CBCK Committee for Promoting Christian Unity & Interreligious Dialogue, welcomed the Chinese religious leaders and explained them about the present state and the vision of the Catholic Church in Korea. He also asked them their cooperation and efforts for continuing exchange between the religious leaders of two countries, saying "The religious persons' meeting of two countries is more than a friendship meeting. Without peace in Asia, world peace is not possible. I hope that religious persons of both Korea and China make a constant effort for the world peace based on the peace in Asia."

In response, Elder Fu Xianwei, President of Three-Self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Churches in China, asserted, "It is very significant that the religious persons of both countries meet and talk with each other, contributing thus to the world peace." He also hoped an expanded religious exchange and an increased friendship between two countries.

The delegates of CCRP came to Korea on November 19, 2009 by invitation of the Korean Conference on Religion and Peace (KCRP) as a part of Korean-Chinese religious leaders' exchange meeting and also in return for the Korean religious leaders' visit to China in 2007. Before meeting Catholic leaders in Korea, they visited other cities in Korea and met the leaders of other religions.
