Rev. Thaddaeus Lee Ki-rak was appointed as the new Executive Secretary of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Korea and Secretary General of the Catholic Conference of Korea at the 2009 Spring General Assembly of the CBCK. Rev. Lee was born in 1952 in Gyeonggi-do, and ordained a priest in 1980. He obtained a master's degree in Biblical Studies at the Pontifical Biblical Institute and completed the doctor's course in Biblical Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University. He has served the Biblical Committee of the CBCK as the Secretary since 2003.
