New Archbishop of Kwangju


 


On March 25, 2010, on behalf of H.H Pope Benedict XVI the Most Rev. Osvaldo Padilla, Apostolic Nuncio in Korea announced that Holy Father accepted the resignation of the Most Rev. Adreas Choi Chang-mou, Archbishop of Kwangju, and the Most Rev. Hyginus Kim Hee-jeong would automatically succeed him. Archbishop Kim was appointed as the Coadjutor Archbishop of the same archdiocese having the right of succession on July 10, 2009.


 


Bishop Kim said that he would entrust everything to God's will and fulfill his responsibilities as hard as he could. He also hoped that many faithful would pray for him.


 


The installation ceremony is going to be held on April 30, 2010 at Limdong Cathedral of Kwangju.
