New Bishop of Military Ordinariate

On July 16, 2010, Rev. Francis Xavier Yu Soo-il, O.F.M., was appointed as Bishop of Military Ordinariate in Korea.

The newly elected Bishop was born in Nonsan, South Korea in 1945. After the graduation from the Seoul National University in South Korea, he was admitted to the novitiate of Order of Friars Minor, O.F.M. in 1973. He professed perpetual vows in 1979, and was ordained a priest in 1980. He is currently vicar in the Franciscan house of formation in Seoul, South Korea. His episcopal ordination is going to be celebrated on September 15, 2010.
