Rev. Simeon Lee Jong-keon was appointed as the first Executive Director of the Caritas Korea International as of February 11, 2011. Ordained a priest in 1989, Rev. Lee made further study at the Center for the Study of religion of Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan. He served the Church as a pastor in various parishes in Daegu area since 1989. He also has practiced pastoral care for the local community as the director of the Gumi Catholic Culture Center and Gumi Female Human Resource Development Center.

The Caritas Korea International was established on January 18, 2011 as a juridical foundation in accordance with the decision of the bishops at the 2010 Autumn General Assembly of the CBCK.
