Workshop for the Preparation of the Answer to the Questions of the Synodal Lineamenta

The Catholic Pastoral Institute of Korea (CPIK, Director: Most Rev. Peter Kang U-il, President of the CBCK, Bishop of Cheju) held a workshop for the preparation of the answer to the questions of the Lineamenta of the XIII Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops at the Auditorium of the CCK from June 27 to 28, 2011.

The participants, representatives of each diocese and ecclesiastical experts, reflected upon the three themes of the Lineamenta in three groups: Time for a New Evangelization; Proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ; Initiation into the Christian Experience.

At its meeting on March 28, 2011, the Permanent Council of the CBCK decided to entrust the CPIK with the preparation of the answer to the questions of the Lineamenta. The decision was made to facilitate the coherent and fruitful answer to the questions. In this regard, the CPIK decided to hold a workshop to collect and exchange opinions of each diocese.

As the delegate Bishop for the XIII Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops in 2012, the Most Rev. Vincent Ri Pyung-ho, President of the CBCK Committee for Evangelization and Bishop of Jeonju, had been showing great concern for the preparation of the answer to the questions of the Lineamenta. He also expressed his intention to hold a workshop for the study of the Instrumentum Laboris, the work-document for the synod. He, furthermore, said he would promote the study of the Post-synodal Apostolic Exhortation for its proper application in the Catholic Church in Korea.

The CPIK will make a report summarizing the observations of each diocese and competent experts and submit it to the CBCK.
