Message for the Biblical Week

Rt. Rev. Abbot Simon Petro Ri Hyong-u, O.S.B., President of the CBCK Biblical Committee, issued a message for the Biblical Week on November 20, 2011, the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ the King. Quoting the words of St. Paul the Apostle, “hold on to the word of life” (Phil 2,16), Abbot Ri urged the faithful to realize the necessity of new evangelization in a drastically changing society with many problems: materialism; financial crisis; natural and man-made disasters.

Abbot Ri also said that the most urgent and important mission of the faithful is to realize the noble value of the Word of God and communicate the Good News to their contemporaries. He said that all we have to do is just continuing the salvific works of Jesus, which was manifested in the paschal mystery, until he comes again. In a word, it means a total dedication of ourselves and the whole world for the glory of God in Jesus.
