On the occasion of the Mission Month, the Most Rev. Joseph Kyeong, President of the Committee for Evangelization, issued "2000 Great Jubilee Message of Mission Month" and asked all Korean Catholics to announce the good news to all people.
In his message with title of "Anybody can announce the Good News and must do it" Bishop Kyeong pointed out that Korean Catholics are too much introvert and passive for mission, and spiritually immature compared to the external growth of the Church," and went on "we have to witness Christ to the world by living the Gospel values and showing good examples."
"We should never forget that the raison-d'etre and mission of the Church is to announce the Good News of the salvation through the death and resurrection of Christ to the end of the world," he said and added "the best mission is to lead people to the Church by our example of the faith life.
