Subdivisions Established to Support Shrines and Pilgrimages

 


   After the second national meeting of the Subcommittee for Pastoral Care of Pilgrimages under the CBCK Committee for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and itinerants, Which was held from August 21 to 22, 2006 at St J. Hasang Education Center in Daejeon, the Subcommittee for the Pastoral Care of Pilgrimages under the CBCK Committee for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerants organized three subdivisions; for external cooperation, for pastoral care of domestic pilgrimages, and for pastoral care of overseas pilgrimages.


  The subdivision works for the development of shrines and organizing the actions and directions to guide pilgrims with the proper information. Each subdivision takes its own role. The subdivision for external cooperation will play a role in finding ways to deal with administrative matters about the development of shrines. The Subdivision for Pastoral Care of Domestic Pilgrimage will provide the website to give information of shrines. The Subdivision for Pastoral Care of Foreign Pilgrimages will seek a hedge against the imprudent pilgrimages to overseas shrines contrary to the spirit of the Church.


   The organization of the subdivisions will open a new chapter in the development of shrines and the pastoral care for pilgrims in the Catholic Church in .


                                          Hasang Christian School


  The Hasang Christian School , which enlightened precious value of the faith and the truth to the contemporary people who suffer from wandering mentality and evoked an echo both inside and outside the Church, will offer its second course in this September.

 


  On the subject of “Encounter with bishops and the laity”, the school will provide eight lectures altogether. During the course, six lectures are given by bishops, including the Most Rev. Michael Pak Jeoong-il and Most Rev. Rene Dupont.
  
  The curriculums are as follows: ultimate question of life; the faith of martyrs; cooperative relation of the laity and the clergy; the Catholic and critical journalism; the life of grace and the doctrine of Justification; the culture of life; the Encyclical Deus Caritas Est; vocation and the social life of the laity.


   The Second Hasang Christian School will be hosted by the Lay Apostolate Council of the Archdiocese of Seoul (Chairman: Mr. Thomas Han Hong-soon, Director: Rev. Pius Min Byeong-duk) from September 11 to November 11, 2006 at the Coste Hall, Myeongdong Cathedral of Seoul .
