Archdiocese of Seoul newly established the Committee for Overseas Mission (President: Most Rev. Andrew Yeom Su-jeong, Vicar general of Seoul) to promote the integral formation of missionary priests and efficient support for their activity. There had been loud voice for the establishment of such a committee as the importance of the overseas missionary work is getting greater with the increasing number of priests who aspire to the overseas missionary activity.

The committee will select candidates for missionary works from seminarians and provide them with more systematic and professional formation and training. It will also give impetus to the activity of pastoral exchange with the local Churches in other countries. The committee is composed of 1 president, 1 vice president (Fr. Peter Ahn Byeong-cheol, Chancellor), 1 secretary (Fr. John Yang Hae-ryong, Assistant Director of Pastoral Department), and 7 members.
