A vademecum for Holy Hour Meditations, Holy Hour

The CBCK published a vademecum for Holy Hour Meditations, Holy Hour on July 16, 2012.

This book is a compilation of the texts of prayers written by the faithful for ‘Holy Hour Meditations’, under the supervision of the CBCK Committee for Liturgy. These texts were the result of the event of open invitation for the faithful organized by the CBCK, from January to April 2011. This event was prepared to promote Eucharistic adoration among the faithful and to provide the faithful with various materials for Holy Hour so that they can make Holy Hours in a more fruitful way.

The Most Rev. Peter Kang U-il, President of the CBCK, explained the meaning of this publication. He said, “The publication of this book is very meaningful because today Holy Hour is losing its meaning all the more. This book presents the proper instruction related to worship of the Eucharist outside Mass and basic forms for Holy Hour. It also contains rich prayer materials for Holy Hour Meditations, written by the faithful participated in the event of open invitation, so that it can help the faithful to be in communion with our Lord in Holy Hour.”

Unlike other rites or liturgical books, this Holy Hour is significant, because it contains the efforts of various faithful who participated themselves for its drafts. Furthermore, it can help the faithful to have Holy Hour at the liturgical point of view. It includes the General Instruction, “Holy Communion and Worship of the Eucharist outside Mass" published by the Sacred Congregation for Divine Worship and basic forms for Holy Hour prepared by the CBCK Committee for Liturgy.
